About

From an early age, music became the focal point in Alex Heisey's life. Countless hours were spent learning the languages of Classical and Jazz using a trumpet as the form of expression. Over the years, this passion for music evolved into the form of Djing... and many sleepless nights perfecting various scratches and mixes followed. This drive for self-improvement has resulted in the ability to mix a variety of different genres, and ideas into a cohesive musical experience.   In college, Alex Heisey was immersed into the world of radio at 88.1 WKNC. He ran three separate shows: an underground hip hop show, an electronic show, and "Waiting For The Sun" - which focused on the latest connections and intersections between indie and electronica. It was here he learned the importance of being a tastemaker - not playing music simply because it was popular or featured on a blog but using independent and personal judgement.    Besides radio, he has experience in a many facets of the art. While in Raleigh, he was the official DJ for hip hop artist - Drique London, and was the house DJ for the Art2Wear Fashion Show. He is equally comfortable in anything from basement parties to black tie events. It comes down to one thing - uniting people through music.

there are no stars, only a skyline

These are two hours for the dancer, for the heads, and for the storyteller. A mix of dusty crates and creative future. You’ll hear sounds ranging from african drums to post-punk, and from hip-hop to techno. Music that is timeless and emotive.

12:00-12:30AM: Recent cuts.
12:30-1:30AM: DJ mix in the form of a musical narrative. Every week, a short story is written, and I choose the music based on the story.
1:30-2:00AM: Guest DJ mixes, guest interviews, and other special programming.
